    • SHEN Xiaoming, PhD, professor of pediatrics, was president of Shanghai Children’s Medical Center affi liated to Shanghai Second Medical University, president of Xin Hua Hospital, and executive vice president of Shanghai Jiaotong University. Currently, he is director general of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, director of WHO Collaborative Center for Neonatal Health Care, and director of Shanghai Environment and Children’s Health Laboratory.

      To date, Prof. Shen has completed 32 national- and municipal-level research projects, authored fi ve monographs, and published over 150 academic papers in both domestic and international journals. He is also the recipient of numerous national and municipal prizes including Second Prize for National Science & Technology Advancement (2000 and 2006), First Prize for Shanghai Municipal Science & Technology Advancement (2004), Second Prize for Science & Technology Advancement awarded by the Ministry of Health (1999), and Third Prize for Science & Technology Advancement awarded by the Ministry of Education (1998).
