Lisa Kervin
Lisa Kervin is a Professor in Language and Literacy in the Faculty of the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Wollongong, where she also leads research on Play, Curriculum and Pedagogy in Early Start. Lisa’s current research interests are focused on young children and how they engage with literate practices and she is currently involved in research projects funded by the Australian Research Council focused on young children and writing, digital play and interaction. She has researched her own teaching and has collaborative research partnerships with teachers and students in tertiary and primary classrooms and prior-to-school settings.

Steven Howard
Steven Howard is an Associate Professor in Educational & Developmental Psychology in the School of Education at the University of Wollongong, where he leads a research collective on Self-Regulation and Cognitive Development. He has led or contributed to research funded by the Australian Research Council, National Health & Medical Research Council, government, industry and philanthropy, each of which focused on how to playfully pinpoint children’s developmental progress and use that information to support children’s continued growth. He has conducted research using a variety of research designs and data capture methods, from large randomised controlled trials to survey research to case studies.

Rachel Jones
Rachel Jones is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Wollongong and is the co-convenor of the Food and Movement research group. She has extensive experience working in large research teams on complex research projects involving a variety of data collection methods and data analysis procedures. Her research has been funded by National Health and Medical Research Council and focuses primarily on the health and well-being of young children. In addition to her research, she specialises in teaching research methodology to diverse groups of postgraduate students.

Anthony McKnight
Anthony McKnight is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities. Anthony’s research is about identifying how and why teachers, students and people connect to country to enhance educational practice. Anthony has expertise in Country inspired and informed methodologies and how these contribute to decolonising and reculturalising educational systems and practices. Anthony’s research has been acknowledged with the 2019 VC Award for Excellence in Community Engagement and the Betty Watts Indigenous Researcher Award (AARE) in 2015.
