  • Students are encouraged to delve into many of the unique uses of the language throughout the Spanish-speaking world. They also learn to use formal registers in meaningful, real-life situations.

  • In addition to cultural, historical and literary presentations that build cultural competence, enriching expansion activities celebrate heritage learners' differing backgrounds and linguistic levels as they share their own unique experiences and opinions.

  • To meet the needs of all students and optimize their experiences inside and outside the classroom, this edition strategically integrates online, guided practice activities in MindTap with textbook-based group, open-ended and task-based exercises in the text.
